My Counselling Story

Experienced. Certified. Supportive.

I'm a registered counsellor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges and transitions. Since beginning my counselling journey in London in 2000, I’ve worked across a range of settings—including schools, community programs, and disability services—offering personalised support that honours each person’s unique story and strengths. Today, I work with clients in Kyabram and the surrounding areas in regional Victoria.

I hold a Master of Guidance and Counselling, a Psychology degree with Honours, and I’m currently completing a Master of Social Work (Qualifying). I’m a Level 4 member of the Australian Counselling Association and a member of the ACA College of Supervisors.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or a life transition, I offer a safe, supportive, and respectful space where you can explore what matters most to you. My role is to help you reconnect with your values, build confidence, and move forward with clarity and purpose.

Areas of Practice and Experience

Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a broad spectrum of services in counselling, education, and community support. My experience includes:

  • Student Wellbeing and Counselling roles in both primary and secondary schools, providing emotional and behavioural support to children and adolescents.

  • Play therapy and creative approaches, supporting children and young people to express themselves, process emotions, and build resilience through developmentally appropriate methods.

  • Experience working with NDIS clients, offering trauma-informed, person-centred support for individuals with psychosocial disabilities, intellectual and physical disabilities, and complex care needs.

  • Social support and rehabilitation for young adults with acquired brain injury (ABI), including the development and delivery of treatment, recreational, and social skills programs.

  • Program planning and support for clients with intellectual, physical, or multiple disabilities, fostering autonomy, inclusion, and improved quality of life.

  • Work in alternative education settings, assisting students at risk of disengagement to shift behaviour patterns and return to mainstream education through therapeutic and strength-based interventions.

My counselling approach is informed by modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and play-based interventions. I am also a certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator, using hands-on, metaphor-driven techniques to enhance communication, creativity, and problem-solving in both individual and group settings.
